1.Is this free?
Yes. All AI search, evaluation, and catalog browsing are free. No signup, no credit card, no rate limit on basic usage. We may add a paid tier later for power features (bulk export, watchlists, premium data feeds) — see pricing.
2.Are these domains really available?
Each result is checked against RDAP (the modern WHOIS) and live DNS at the moment of your search. If we say available, the domain has no active registration record. BUT — registration races happen. The instant you click “Register”, someone else could be doing the same. Always confirm at the registrar before relying on it.
3.Why is the same domain sometimes shown as available here but taken at the registrar?
Three reasons: (1) the domain was registered between our check and your click; (2) the TLD registry is slow to propagate WHOIS data; (3) some new gTLDs have undocumented holds (e.g. “reserved” premium names). We pick the most permissive answer to give you options — but the registrar is the source of truth.
4.Which AI model should I use?
Default is DeepSeek-v3 — fast and dirt cheap (~$0.005/search), surprisingly creative. For complex briefs use Claude Sonnet (~$0.05) — best balance.Claude Opus (~$0.30) is marginal benefit; only use it for high-stakes naming.Haiku is cheap but slightly weaker than DeepSeek for naming. The 4 BETA models (GPT-mini, Groq, Gemini, GPT-5) work but are less reliable through the proxy — use only if you specifically want to compare outputs.
5.How does the persistent history work?
Every domain we show you is saved in your browser's localStorage (capped at 5,000 entries). Subsequent searches automatically exclude these. So if you search ten times in a row, you get a fresh batch each time — never the same name twice. Clear via the 🗑 Reset history button on /phrase. History is per-browser, not synced across devices.
6.Can I export my results?
Yes — every result page has Copy / Share / CSV / Markdown buttons. Export the whole list at once or copy individual domain names with the icon next to each name.
7.Why doesn’t the catalog have many domains?
We pull from 7 free public sources. Most marketplace bulk feeds (GoDaddy, Sedo) require partner agreements that take weeks to obtain. The catalog grows daily via a 06:00 UTC cron job. To make it bigger, we'd need a partner like Sedo or a paid feed like WhoisXML — we're evaluating whether that makes sense without committed users.
8.Do you store my searches or sell my data?
No. We don't store search history server-side, don't use cross-site tracking, and don't sell anything to third parties. The only persistence is your browser's localStorage (history + favorites) — completely under your control.
9.I clicked Register at Namecheap and the domain wasn’t there.
Two possibilities: (1) it was just registered by someone else (race condition); (2) Namecheap doesn't carry that TLD — we link to their search page so it'll suggest an alternative TLD. Try Porkbun or Cloudflare Registrar as backups (often cheaper renewal rates).
10.Can I use this for client work / agencies?
Absolutely. Star your favorites, export to CSV, and share the search URL with the client. We don't track agency-vs-direct usage. If you find yourself running 50+ searches a day for clients and want priority routing or higher rate limits, ping us.
11.What if my brief is in Hebrew or Russian?
Switch the UI language via the globe icon — Hebrew triggers RTL layout. The matcher will also surface transliterated Hebrew/Russian roots (Tzuri, Gesher, Mir, Vector) when relevant — these often perform better for Israeli/CIS audiences.
